Chris comes to MCM from the brewing and malting world to head-up business development efforts including international distribution and strategic partnerships. He started his career as a research biologist in the Pacific Northwest where he fell in love with craft beer and the art and science of brewing. After moonlighting at several breweries and brewing countless batches at home, he set off to build his own brewery. After pulling together a team of key partners, Fargo Brewing Company was born in 2010 in Fargo, ND.
Chris helped grow Fargo Brewing into an award-winning brewery over the next 6 years. Looking for a new challenge, however, Chris moved on from a day to day role at Fargo Brewing and started a second company that designed and sold small scale malting equipment into the craft malting space. During this time, Chris created global connections to brewing and malting companies and delved into consulting. He met the leadership team at Montana Craft Malt while doing some consulting work and felt a role there was a great lifestyle and skills fit.
He lives in Missoula with his wife, Jessica, and their 3 kids. If he isn't working, you can likely find him outside in the mountains or on a river.
